Harold Raymond Bell

Harold Raymond Bell, 95, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at Hospice Savannah, Inc. He was born in Marietta, Ohio, lived in Akron, Ohio for many years and was retired from the East Ohio Gas Company after 30 years of service. He was a member of Cathedral of Tomorrow for twenty two years where he was an elder. Mr. Bell served in the United States Army under General Patton where he was wounded twice and received two Purple Hearts, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with Bronze Stars. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty nine years, Claralice Slavens Bell and grandchildren, Victoria and Steven Bell and Ronald Menear, Jr.

Surviving are two daughters, Lynn R. Bell of Savannah, GA; Constance M. Menear and her husband, Ronald of Brunswick, GA; son, Harold O. Bell and his wife, Bonnie of Savannah, GA; five grandchildren, Kimberly Bynum, Kevin Menear both of Brunswick, GA; Kelly Menear of Pell City, AL; Thomas B. Bell of Gulf Breeze, FL; Christy Smith Flowers of Odum, GA; six great grandchildren, Shaune, Hannah, Marie, Meigan, Spencer and Shauna.

Graveside Funeral Service with military honors will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery conducted by Rev. Bill Adams.
